A Year of Growth and Gratitude at Belli Beef
As we reflect on the past year at Belli Beef, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible support from our local community on the Sunshine Coast. Your enthusiasm for our grass-fed, pasture raised beef has fuelled our passion to continue delivering the highest quality products while staying true to our commitment to regenerative and ethical farming practices.
A Year in Review: Milestones and Achievements
This past year has been one of growth and learning for The Belli Beef Crew.
From a very rustic handwritten labels, blank boxes and basic website start, we have expanded our operations to better serve you, our valued customers. Here are a few highlights:
Community Engagement: We've been actively involved in local community where we've had the pleasure of meeting many of you in person. Your feedback and stories about how you’ve enjoyed our beef with your families and friends has been truly rewarding.
Regenerative Initiatives: We've implemented new practices on our farm to enhance soil health and reduce our carbon footprint. We have implemented over 13km of contours in our paddocks to slow the flow of water and nutrients. They play a crucial role in understanding and managing water flow across landscapes. By implementing the contours we can control how water will move across the terrain which is crucial for water resource management. Understanding the slope helps in predicting erosion potential and designing effective drainage systems. Widely spaced contours will ensure the water flows more slowly.
Biodynamic sprays: To enhance the pastures, promote the soil biology and add microbes to give back some of the love the soil has lost over the years
Introducing a new breed to the herd: We have bought 5 ‘in calf’ cows (pregnant cows) and 5 heifers (lady cows who haven’t had a calf yet) of Red Brangus. We believe the Brahman in the Brangus will give the cows greater resistance to the Subtropical pests that bother the herds in this region. With the Angus in both the cow and the bull, we look forward to sampling the flavour in a few years.
New Fencing: We are becoming quite the pros with regards to running new fencing, doing repairs, adding gates and posts. We are reducing the size of some of our larger paddocks, to give the paddocks a longer rest periods between grazing, improving the pastures. Our commitment to the environment is stronger than ever, and we're proud to contribute to the long-term health of our land.
New Market Garden: Soon we will be able to offer a complete meal package. Veggies, meat and a ‘Serving Suggestion’ recipe for those busy mums and dads out there who are looking for a quick easy dinner, or a special Sunday feast. Keep an eye out on socials for updates.
New Products on the Horizon
Looking forward, we're excited to announce we have introduced a variety of beef cuts to cater to different preferences, from premium dry aged steaks to versatile ‘carnivore’ mince (a mix of liver and our premium mince). The response has been overwhelming, and we're thrilled to have such a loyal customer base.
Belli Beef Boerewors: Made from our premium grass-fed beef, these traditional South African sausages are crafted with a unique blend of spices and herbs, perfect for your next BBQ. Free from preservative and gluten.
Preserves: With an abundant crop of fruits from our garden, we are creating different preserves and chutneys. Keep an eye out for lime pickle, perfect for curry night or eaten with cheese and crackers, a variety of marmalade and kumquat sweet chilli jam (a firm favorite!).
De-hydrated Citrus: Using some lovely fresh produce, we have dehydrated some citrus, perfect for drinks and cocktail garnishes or cut up and added to muesli for breakfast or just eaten as a pop of sweetness snack! No additives or preservatives. Nothing but nature.
Salt and Meat Rubs: Coming soon are our red wine salt and meat rubs. Rub, with a little oil, into your roast or steak prior to cooking for a pop in flavour. Sprinkle over your spuds for a zesty finish, a perfect accompaniment to any meal.
Snail of approval: We received our 'snail of approval' from Slow Food Noosa. The Snail is awarded to establishments that adopt more sustainable practices and look at ways to minimise their footprint. The award is to support outlets that contribute to the quality, authenticity and sustainability of the local food supply.
The end of our Introductory Pricing
As we end our first year in supplying premium grass-fed beef direct to our community, we want to remind our customers that our special introductory pricing on all beef products has concluded and our prices now reflect market pricing.
Thank You for Your Support
We couldn't have achieved all of this without your unwavering support. At Belli Beef, we consider our customers part of our extended farm family, and we’re dedicated to continuing our journey together, providing you with the best grass fed, pasture raised, premium beef the Sunshine Coast has to offer while regenerating our land.
Thank you for being a part of our story.
